Performing Public Spaces

Portable City Projects/Jules Rochielle was curated into Performing Public Space, at La Casa del Túnel, Tijuana, Mexico. Portable City Projects engaged over 200 residents of Tijuana, mediating conversation between residents, vendors, pedestrians, cab drivers, and border guards. Posing the question “what is your favorite song (and why)?” Working with XHUAN-FM Fusion 102.5 to compiled and broadcast this collaborative sound track of for the neighborhood.

Earlier this year, Portable City Projects was curated into a show called Performing Public Space. Bringing the work of eleven LA-based artists and artist collectives to La Casa del Túnel,Tijuana, Performing Public Space presents new performances and artworks alongside growing archives of ‘non-art' actions documented on the streets, parks and plazas of Los Angeles and Tijuana.
